About Me
Samantha Maben is an aspiring multi-media journalist who believes that the best stories are the ones “untold”. She is an “Aristocratic Urbanista”. What is an “Aristocratic Urbanista”? An Aristocratic Urbanista exemplifies the best things that life has to offer such as love, integrity, and determination with a touch of fabulosity. Yet, an “Aristocratic Urbanista” is edgy, street, grounded, humble, and can hang out with the guys in any environment. She is an urban writer with a multi-cultural family history, that believes in bridging the gap in diversity. On a personal level, she is definitely more like one of the guys on any given Sunday, than one of the girls. She has volunteered her time teaching African American history and mentoring young women. Many of her friends describe her as drinking Armand de Brignac one day and the next day taking in a beer at a Yankees game. She has a B.A. in Communications Studies with a minor in African American Studies from Western Michigan University and a certification as an herbalist from Dr. Christopher’s School of Natural Healing. She goes the extra mile to bring out a visual news story through photography and multi-media. Samantha created Aristocratic Journalism blog to display her work as a journalist. She will soon have her Masters Degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University. Her goal is to write from the urban community’s perspective and give a voice to the voiceless. She is a spiritual, witty, free spirit, with a determination to exceed all expectations. Samantha’s desire is to work as a multi-media journalist at major TV station and become an entertainment publicist.
